'Force' feeding? Star Wars stormtrooper is cloned as cake

I've attended a few sci-fi and comic conventions in my time, and I can tell you it's nothing you want to do on an empty stomach. You think it's easy fighting your way through the throng to that limited edition Boba Fett action figure with articulated limbs? It takes energy, and tofu and bean sprouts aren't going to cut it.

Chew-bakers Amanda and Tiler Oakleaf and a team of 10 labored two weeks to bake this 300-pound cake in the likeness of a Star Wars stormtrooper.

So what do you feed hungry hordes of fantasy geeks? Professional baker Amanda Oakleaf and her husband Tiler of Amanda Oakleaf Cakes in Wintrhop, Mass., came up with the perfect solution. They baked a 300-pound cake in the likeness of a Star Wars stormtrooper: one of the dreaded elite soldiers of the tyrannical Galactic Empire, known for their signature white armor, sadistic brutality, and terrible aim.

Weighing in at 300 pounds and standing over 6 feet tall, the colossal cake took the couple and a team of 10 two weeks to prepare, using 208 eggs, 140 pounds of sugar, and 55 pounds of marshmallows. They made the legs from Rice Krispies, the body from sponge cake, mounted their masterpiece on an iron frame and hauled it to the Arisia Sci-Fi Convention in Boston, where it fed some 600 fans.

It sounds delicious, but I'll bet it still couldn't shoot straight.

Senior editor Rick Schindler tried to enlist in the stormtroopers, but was rejected due to his fallen arches.
